My Laptop and I and all of the Potential Between Us, 2025

A part of the group show, Molar held in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, this installation was made to be looked at in a squatting position.
It is comprised of my self portrait doll in a new knit outfit sitting on a miniature antique chair I refurbished, a ball of homeade canvas yarn, and a ceramic laptop with working hinges.
The laptop is made using my ongoing ceramic flake-making tenchique. This technique offers an auditory component, as well as a sensory one. It hurts if you touch it too hard, but handled correctly, creates lovely notes.
Since moving to Brooklyn, I have dove into the convenience of my computer and writing as a means of creation. This piece was meant to embody this moment in my process.
