Half Birthday, A Tower Series, 2026

On a Tuesday in August I met a French model for a date in the park. He told me, unprompted, that I looked better in my photos. I cried on the bench next to him. I left. My self esteem materialized itself as a tower and on that day, the tower seemed to be made of something precarious, cards maybe. One blow and it toppled.
To explore my constitution in different tower forms was my mission for the months that followed that fateful park day.
Once completed, three of the towers were subsequently smashed, “fallen.” This kinetic gesture was to symbolize and actualize the fact that one never truly knows what towers they build will last. After the show, held on January 17th, life towers I believed to be strong fell just as if they were made of cards again. A big part of me now can’t help but wonder, are towers built to fall?
Regardless, I don’t see my constitution as a tower anymore,  My integrity is far too important.

Wind is magnificent because it tests towers.
One blow and ones tower topples. Or one blow and the windows being open of said tower can clean its innards energetically. A whistle might even sound.
